Mike believes strong volleyball players are built from the ground up. His training centers on technical fundamentals — clean platform, footwork, contact, and repetition — because a player who trusts their mechanics can stop thinking about the mechanics. But the skill work is never the whole point. Mike is player-centered in his approach, meeting each athlete where they are and giving them ownership over their own development. Rather than simply issuing corrections, he asks questions, invites players to notice what happened on a set or a pass, and lets them arrive at the fix themselves. That process builds confidence that outlasts any single drill. For Mike, the goal of training isn't just a better volleyball player — it's a more capable, self-assured young person who trusts her own judgment on and off the court.

"Coach Mike has been instrumental in helping my athlete develop not only as a volleyball player, but as a resilient and confident young person. He consistently provides the right balance of encouragement and accountability, giving athletes the space to learn, grow, and work through challenges on their own."
"One of the most valuable lessons my daughter has learned is that everyone makes mistakes—what matters is how you respond to them. Coach Mike’s emphasis on mindset, positive self-talk, and resilience has helped her build confidence and develop tools that extend far beyond the volleyball court."
